Revolutionary Artists - a Drama class depicting the local tribes through art

Description

Revolutionary Artists offer live Drama performances in their little classroom or will travel to the lodges in the surrounding area.

Solly Mokhubela felt the need to keep children busy and away from a life of crime, whilst at the same time, using their talents through art to make these children feel worthy and encourage them to make their dreams come true.

Visitors are treated to a series of Drama productions which include poems, skits, dance and song.  Their stories are heart wrenching and their performance is excellent for such a young cast.  The songs and dance are very lively and you'll find yourself clapping or tapping to the beat. The Youth of Mookgophong have a clear message to give all the people, it is a message of hope in this world of anguish in which we live.

We invite you to support this community project by encouraging them to continue to practise drama, watch their productions and share their enthusiasm for the arts.

Items in their performances could include a few of the follwing:

  • Poetry - My Cries; Arrive Alive;  Education; Coming back home; Universal woman; The journey of life; Till we meet again; One in a million; I am a born star; The Hardship of life; Crime
  • Stage/Drama - HIV & AIDS; Act against IT; TLC - trouble, lie, cheat; Crime doesn't pay; Eblozini; Van Plassie tot Kassing
  • Singing
  • Contemporary Dancing
  • Traditional Dancing

Directions

Travel to Mookgophong / Naboomsprut on the N1 or alternative route R101. From the South : At the first traffic lights turn left From the North: At the second traffic lights turn right At the Stop Street turn left. At the yield, turn left towards Roedtan. Cross over the bridge and take the first left-hand road (first street). Travel to the Stop Street and turn right. Continue to next stop street and turn right, 20m later you will see the sign entrace to the Revolutionary Artists Drama Class.
